The Ellison Medical Foundation awarded $75,000 to help support aging-related science to be presented at the National Academy of Sciencesí Frontiers of Science Symposium Series which will continue through December 31, 2007. This series enables young scientific leaders to become acquainted with their international counterparts and to broaden their perspectives across scientific disciplines. This is done through a series of symposia, held worldwide, presenting widely divergent cutting edge science such as from aging, nanotechnology, physics and other disciplines. 2001-2003 U.S. Frontiers of Science Symposium Series

The Ellison Medical Foundation has awarded $150,000 to help fund the National Academy of Sciences 2001-2003 U.S. Frontiers of Science Symposium Series. The first symposium held November 2-4, 2001 at the California Institute of Technology. The Frontiers of Science Symposium Series brought together young scientists from many scientific disciplines to present cutting-edge research in their fields and to gain cross-disciplinary information and insights. About Training Awards

The Foundation supports a limited number of institutional training programs, through universities, professional societies, government institutions, or other non-profit organizations by invitation only. These programs are intended to reach younger scientists, still in graduate or post-doctoral training, to nurture their interest in developing careers in research areas of programmatic interest to the Foundation.
